Picking up new transmission tomorrow, NEED HELP

I have a 98 2.5 2wd, Trans is on its way out

I'm about to pick up a A4LD *same trans* out of a 1999 3.0 2wd.

WILL THIS BOLT RIGHT UP!?!?!

Are the bellhousings different etc?

Any help would be dandy.

Yeah they should be the same 4R44E, not A4LD. The bellhouses are swappable IIRC. 2.5/3.0 use different patterns. I'm not sure the amount of work it would take.

Does it involve tearing apart the whole trans, are just a few bolts holding the housing on?

6 bolts hold the housing to the case , undo them , then just swap bellhousings , then torque the bolts to 39 ft lbs in a star pattern
