Hey, gonna be buying a trailer soon and was wondering what size would be good for my 94 ranger.

my build tread
http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113181

im a few states away from the truck right now so i cxant go outside and look at the weight and dimensions,

Question is would a 16 ft 7000lb trailer be big enough or go for a 20ft 10k trailer? im looking at the PJ buggy haulers mostly.

Get the 20' 10k trailer. It's better to have a little more trailer than you need than just not enough trailer when you need it. I bought a 20' 10K PJ Buggy hauler brand new about two years. The powder coating isn't holding up as good as I thought it would and the jack handle set up sucks but overall it was definitely a good purchase. The 102" deck width takes a little getting use to, and can make one lane roads and tight parking spots a little difficult to negotiate but it's worth the extra room. I wanted enough trailer that if my tow rig ever broke down (at that time it was a ex cab long bed superduty) the trailer would be able to handle it without issue. Luckily it's never came to that but I have hauled plenty of big trucks on it. I bought it with all the options, 16" OC cross members, brakes on both axles, etc. Ran me right at $3800 out the door.

personally I love the 20 foots.. but just for your ranger, it might a little overkill.
To much trailer is NOT a bad thing if you know how to drive with it.

IMO powdercoating sucks to start with, most trailers don't like any kind of ice treatment.

If you need a wide trailer I would rather go with a deckover rather than a extra wide regular one.

Surely have have had cause to update your build thread in the last year? I would be going nuts to have it that close but not running. :D

G g gg I just read his thread! Please tell me that thing is finished and you just got lazy about posting!

well with my build it hasnt changed much and it is killing me, it wasnt laziness but a 8 month deployment to afganistan. i got the wiring to finish up and then rebuild the tranny.

How much room do you have to park it and what else are you going to be towing on it?

I'd get the smaller one if it's just the Ranger. I had an 18' tag and it was a great trailer. The fenders were heavy enough to drive over them. If I lived where you appear to live by the pictures, and all I was hauling was that Ranger, I'd get the shortest trailer that could do the job.

i did end up with the smaller one, the ranger is all i want to deal with hauling other then our 4 wheelers, and the bigger one would have been over kill and it and the deckover i was looking at they wanted more then i was willing to spend in the end. Will, i have to store it at someone else's house anyways,

The less obtrusive it is the longer they will let you keep it there. :icon_twisted:

I hope you get going on your Ranger soon, it is a lot of fun when you get it going. :yahoo:
