I've seen the yard guys here pick up a car by shoving the lift forks thru the windows or thru the DOORS

Thankfully the guy here at the local yard is about 70 years old and can pretty much do a waltz with the 'backhoe'.

Not a lot of damage done to the cars/trucks he moves around. Now as for the idiot crews that strip via bolt cutters and hacksaws?

How about this for an irritation.... people who see something they want but can't buy, so they remove it and hide it on a completely different car until they come back. At U-Pull-R-Parts in MN, you find pristine tailights for a ranger in the trunk of a Grand Prix or something. People squirreling things away just so others CAN'T buy it irritates the piss out of me. If it's that important, or you know you need it, buy it - don't hide it thinking "Gee, thats nice, I'll stash it for later." It just screws over someone else who might need that part.

I scored a set of forged tow loops that way, setting in the back seat of a truck. Usually they would have been such a fight I wouldn't have really bothered but hey if they are just sitting there why not.

That would be easier on driveshafts though, all depends on what you after.

I try to take it apart the right way, if for no other reason practice so I don't screw things up on my truck.
