also i am running a Gibson on my truck, and i kinda like the note. its not going to make it distinctively different than a standard v-6 note, but it just sounds better. check em out on youtube.
I have a Gibson on my Sport Trac and like it, although it is a bit loud under load (like if I have the whole family in it).
K&N drop-in.
Seen as high as 23 mpg on a level road at 65 mph with the cruise on before I got more aggressive tires.
Put a K&N in by itself in a 4.0 SOHC Ranger I used to have, it didn't make any difference in mpg.
An '07 Ranger would have synthetic fluids in the axles, tranny, and t-case from the factory. Just know to flush the tranny and change the t-case lube (it's ATF) every 30k. The manual says to change the t-case lube every 60k but it will look like tar by 30k. I just did the t-case on my Sport Trac yesterday, refilled it with Mobil 1 ATF. Axles as soon as it warms up a bit.
