personally i would just put a gate with a latch on it. yes you have to get out of your car to open it to get up to your house, but very unlikely someone would do that just to make the loop. leave enough room to be off the road of course.

'nuff said.

I don't think Clint Eastwood does private gigs. Still would be cool anyway.

Another option would be to find a surplus tank and put it on the lawn.

Find a surplus mounted gun and put it at the end of the drive, but up some gates or chain

or you could get this guy to hang out at the corner of the drive and road

Have one gate on your far right drive, then no turn around, gates always closed and would help when you have a party, as everyone would go in the same drive.

Drawbridge and a moat...

Otherwise, a gate is a good option....

Jim Oaks I thought about putting a cable across the lower drive far enough up that you could pull in to get off the road and then just have a way to hook it without locking it.[/QUOTE said:
thats a good idea. along with a couple signs for not turning or private driveway.

Could you incorporate a remote garage door opener and a gate? Hit a button and it opens, hit it again and it closes. Might have to make a little shack to keep it out of the weather though.

Working at a pest control company I go to a lot of rich people's houses and you'd be quite surprised how many of them have remote gates. They can get pretty fancy but all you really need is a very sturdy support that won't sag over time and the remote hydraulic ram. They're not all that expensive.

Now the private driving ranges they have in their basements... THOSE can get expensive.

Put in a weaker culvert on one of the entrances and the first "turnaround-ee" will block the driveway for you!! :D

Otherwise, I'd put in a gate, but put it in closer to the house so they don't see it until they're 1/2 way around...then have another gate that closes behind them. Then you can go greet the trespassers yourself.

Ya know now that you mention it, I don't think I've seen a single one of those at somebody's house before. I've seen a few at commercial places though, Astra Zeneca has them all over their Wilmington site.
