holy crappola, they are waiting for the toll booths over 3 miles away at the other end of the bridge.
I'm glad we stayed home.

I was headin up 127 with a load of milk yesterday afternoon...jackson and north was utter chaos

we were going to take the yearly trip to indian lake for fireworks but I absolutely hate the traffic hell after its all over and its so miserable outside I just cant take waiting all day for nightfall to get here. Probably will go somewhere more local this year.

Colorado seems the same way. We are up to visit our son and nothing but 150k motor coaches pulling trailers with multiple expensive looking off road vehicles on them. Moab is probably slammed right now for 4th of july

I seen a guy in a brand new (well, latest gen) F450 platnium, towing a massive tri axle 5th wheel, towing a aluminum trailer with a 30 or 35k rzr on it.

Its nuts the money people spend.

I only hope they have toilets on side of the road ;)

dang, 127 is my alternate for when 23 & 75 are choked up with traffic.
I can pick it up as far south as 223 and still make better time.
I hadnt ran 23/75 in a long time north of the state line untill recently. That road is in serious need of repaving

23 from the Ohio line north for 10 miles is on top of very wet ground. there are peat bogs beside it.
the road literally sinks and needs repaired every year.
they just finished the work Friday, so for now it's ok.

I went through there in feburary or march. Beat the hell out of me

I took a trip to RI to see my brother over the weekend and there was literally 100 miles of northbound bumper to bumper traffic barely crawling on the interstates I took.

100 miles. Bumper to bumper.

There's too many damn people.

I agree. Especially in FL. We went home to visit for Thanksgiving last year and we were delayed a few hours by an accident on the bridge across the Ohio River on our way back. Traffic literally just stopped dead. If I wasn't towing the Ranger on a dolly I could have crossed the median and found another route but we were blocked in and I figured I'd end up getting it stuck. It was pure chance, but if we had skipped just one pee break we would have made it through.

We ended up not making it through Atlanta as we planned and stayed in Chattanooga, arriving at about midnight:30. I figured after a short sleep we'd get up and make the 11 hour drive home, not too bad. 11 hours turned into 17. Getting from FL/GA line to home was 9 hours of bumper to bumper holiday traffic oscillating between 5 and 55 mph. The same portion going North was a little over 5 hours. I've never been so close to coming unhinged in my life. I was completely drained but couldn't sleep for a couple of hours after I got home because I had the shakes so bad.

We came home from Gatlinburg TN to NE Ohio on the 1st. Traffic was crazy, we attempted to stop at 2 different Buc-ees on the way home and decided not to, they were crazy packed. The one on Richmond KY had traffic backed up onto the highway, and it's literally the only thing at the exit!

What if you laid up in the daytime and drive at night?
