i would like to get a set of aluminum pedal covers for my 00 5 sp. i see alot of pictures on this site of them. where did you get them? do you like them? i was told that sometimes they may not let the pedal go all the way disengaged with floormats? thanks in advance

I've got a Ractive set on my 91...simply for the fact that I didn't like how small the factory gas pedal is. They fit fine, have been on the truck for 6 years. No problems with letting the pedals go to the floor.

this may sound like a completely idiotic question, but i've never messed with pedal covers... how do they work? like how do you attach them?

that is the main reason i want them! pkus they look good lol. and most of tehm have little tabs with screws that clamp on to the back of the pedal

Check with your local laws too because it might not be legal to have them and dmv might not pass your car or truck..

well here in idiana they dont inspect. at least where i am.

oh okay just making sure because a friend of mine had them on his car and they failed inspection... The guy said that the cover can fall off and cause an accident and i live in nj....

I had a set for a previous vehicle. Don't remember what brand, but they sucked. They would come loose from time to time, which could potentially be dangerous. And even when I positioned the brake pedal cover as far to the left as possible, it was still way too close to the gas pedal, and I often stepped on both at the same time.

Jay must have not ever heard of Loc-Tite, and it sounds like he's got some big feet. :icon_twisted:

This was damn near a decade ago, so I probably hadn't heard of it at the time. :dntknw:

I don't think I have particularly enormous hooves, the problem was there was only like an inch between the pedals.

I probably just had a crappy set. Got 'em off the shelf at the auto parts store, and they cost next to nothing.

its all about the foot pedal gas pedal haha

since the little brackets couldnt fit on the gas, i drilled it and bolted it tight! havent even tried to move, i used some black screw so it looks like theyre holes from the design and they got almost a year, the brake one,i was lucky cuz the brackets worked fine, only problem was with the clutch, since it touches the floor when i press it, it always came loose, but some custom made brackets and problem solved :D. it started tu rub against the floor mat, but sliding it a bit to the top fixed it. just remember to move your feet , if u just slide between pedals, u will be pressing both of em.
on my old ride(auto) i had some too, but when driving with big sole boots i always pressed both when triying to brake in a hurry
