A while ago I did a manual swap on my 2000 mazda b3000 flex fuel 4x4, but I am having a hard time finding the right pcm for it. Does anybody have a part number or anything that I would need for a new PCM?

That might be tricky since by 2000 a lot of PCMs would have been ordered by VIN.

Best bet is to sit down with a parts guy at the dealership and see is he can find you the right part number.

Given the programmable nature of that particular computer and the fact that a new one will come out of the box blank, I would highly suggest doing everything you can to find a used one somewhere and then just get your keys re-programmed if you have the chipped keys.

Why couldn't the dealer re-program the one he's got (delete the auto trans, add M05D)?

Where's RWenzing? He'd know.

I've tried both of those. The parts guy at the dealership has limited it down to 6 different PCMs, and the mechanic said that he couldn't re-program my current PCM. Im going to call another dealer today to see if they could do it

It doesn't work like that. We are limited on which options we can actually go in and change with the Ford scan tool software. The type of trans is not one of our options. Heck, if someone wants a speedometer correction I can even put in a non-stockk option tire size or gear ratio. The program is for working on unmodified vehicles.

They will tell you the same thing. At this point, you may just have to find someone who does custom programs and get them to try it.

Is there a tool that I could use to get rid of the codes such as a scantool 2?
