Hey guys, have a question. I have a 3 leaf pack on my truck at the moment. I want to increase the payload capicity a little bit for when I haul wood for the winter. I thought about adding 1 more leaf to the pack but, want to keep the stock height. Does anybody have any ideas of what I can do cheap?

adding leaves to the main pack will always give you a little bit of lift. you could possibly drop it back down with a custom length shackle.

you might also consider helper leaf kits. many of these do not contact the main leaf pack until a certain amount of sag. meaning you would keep your ride height the same, but once loaded down the helper would come into play and keep sagging to a minimum.

of coarse air bags would be the best way to go, but those arent that cheap.

but really, sagging down a little isnt going to hurt anything. as long as your not ridding on the bumpstops i wouldnt worry about it.

It's supposed to sag--that's designed into it so it doesn't ride too rough empty. It's the point of the variable rate tapered leafs. When I hauled wood in a Ranger I piled it to the roof and it didn't sag much. This is an old picture (stock except a rear locker) and that's all oak--about all I have growing on my hill.

Yea, but my truck sags way more than yours WILL. My tires are almost rubbing. I dont think its suppost to sag that much is it? Mabey I need new springs.

its possible...springs do wear out over time. you might also check the condition of your shocks.

Ok, my dad said he replaced the shocks within the last two years when it was his. I looked at them any ways and they seem fine. Not much sagging in them. So, could it be the springs?

it could be. but it could also be a normal amount of sag...its hard to tell since there are too many variables.

i would just make sure im not riding on the bumpstops and call it good.
