PATS programming with Forscan

Sorry, I should have quoted Otis when typing my response. The comments were geared towards his post and how to proceed.

Ah. They do apply equally well to both situations.

Thanks for the info guys!! :icon_thumby:

Now if the rain would stop for a while I might actually get that '04 on the road!

Have the exact equipment as the poster. I've gotten to the point where you erase the keys and security access is denied. Anyone had this problem or fixed it? Trying again just to see... (hopefully this old post isn't dead in the water!)

So it shows the modules and you click the wrench icon. At that point does it give you timed access or do you use the incode/outcode process?

Timed access. I did get it to complete on the third try. Now I have both keys erased, byt new keys seemed to not program properly. Waiting on the new Timed access to get through to see what happened.

If you had two keys to erase, why are use this procedure?

Im confused as well. If you have two keys you don't need forscan to add more.

Not sure where the confusion is at. If I had to erase two keys, that doesn't mean I HAVE two keys. I had/have one, and needed to replace the ignition cylinder so went ahead and got new keys.

Im at the PATS portion of a 2000 explorer 5.0 swap into my 2001 4.0 ranger and i cant seem to make heads or tails of how to proceed. I have the complete donor vehicle so ive already taken the type b stuff out of it i just dont know how to integrate it into type e. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
