So on the race ranger i gave given up 2 wins cause the damn truck would puke out and stop running.
The first race this happened...it would intermitently die and fire right back up. It did that prolly 4 times and then we had to go to the pits to take a tire and it died in the pits. I had someone whack the fuel pump and it fired back up. It died once more and we sat for prolly 3 minutes and it refired. The last time it died the theft light came on solid and stayed on. That was the first time i remember seeing a theft light. Dragging it back to the camp ground the theft light went out and it fired back up.
This past race we lost powersteering so i was prolly gonna lose anyways but it ended up dieing 40 minutes into the race and i watched 2nd and 3rd place go by me and i gave up.
Previous to that race i hot wired the fuel pump to a toggle switch and relay. The fuel pump never quit but something else did.
My questions are...
Will a malfunctioning PATS system cause the vehicle to die after it been running for that long? When i worked at chrysler the antitheft they used was setup to where as long as you had a good signal when starting, the antitheft would never interfere until the next key cycle.
Who has the ability to disable pats. I know certian chips can but i want a human being i can send the ecu to and have them reflash it. Everybody ive call either wants the entire vehicle or they wanna sell me a $350 sct tuner.
I almost forgot. Its a 99 ranger 4.0ohv 5r55e
Ill prolly have more questions later
