This is all on a D35 Front Axle...

My slip joint cover boot was missing one of the clamps and the joint appears to have become the victim of the rusty situation... I've been soaking with PB Blaster, pounding with a BFH, and cycling heat with my little MAPP gas torch (I dont have a legit oxy/acy torch...

Any suggestions? I can't get the outer shaft to move at all...

If all else fails, can the diff unit be removed w/o removal of this shaft? like pull out the clip, slide the shaft over slightly and drop the diff then slide the shaft out the opposite way?

The clearances look way tight and don't want to get stuff more jammed up...

it can be done, but you will not be able to get the shaft to come out of the beam, you will have to slide it out enough to press or cut the wheel joint and slide it out the back side (towards where the diff would go).

Never run into that problem but it may be easier to take the inner u-joint apart?? Pullin' those diffs. out isn't much fun.
