Hello Folks...
I need your help.
My Belt-Tensioner for the Serpentine-Belt and Pulley on the other Side between AC and Power-Steering are worn out.
So let's replace them with new parts...

But I can't get the Parts in Germany, or the Parts I get are wrong...

The Tensioner has a Part-No. F27A-6B209-BB on it...
"My Pulley" is "flat" (no Rails in the center) with two Guarding Rails on the Outsides...
(Know I believe, it's the wrong Pulley, that in the car... has anyone a Pic of a correct Pulley between AC and Power-Steering ?)

I looked allready for this Part-No. and found a 1992 Ranger... but just in a list, nothing to order.
My one is a 1993 2,3 L with Aircondition and Power-Steering...

Has anyone a Hint, which parts to use ? (Maybe a Dealer-Link with the right parts, or Gator Part-No. or something which helps ?)

Parts I found:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GTR-49243/
http://www.autosupplyco.com/item.wws?sku=45817&itempk=1428000&mfr=FOUR%20SEASONS&weight=3
http://www.autosupplyco.com/item.wws?sku=5817&itempk=1795939&mfr=HAYDEN&weight=3
Will they Fit ?

But I can't Find that Pulley Wheel.
(I thought allready, if it had Rails once, and because the Belt was mounted wrong, they are rubbed off ?)

Thanks in Advance and Greetings from Germany

Tom

Thanks ;-)

A friend of mine is in San Antonio right know...
I'll ask him, to bring the Part...

One Question left... I belive, there a wrong Pulley Wheel in for year (3rd Pic).
There dont exist any Pulley like that.

Maybe the build in Pulley had those rails ?

Any hints ?

Thanks, Tom

Thats an idler pulley. If its there, its meant to be used. Someone may have routed your belt wrong. Which may be why you need a tensioner in the first place. I'll see if I can find a diagram.

Ok here is one from a 2.5 which has the same routing.

OK, that seems the same like mine. That's, what we got.

And the smaller Wheel 2 o'clock from the Harmonic Balancer...
Thats my 3rd Pic...

I belive, there a wrong Pulley build in...
Everytime I order a new one, I'll get one, that is smaller than the one on the Pic and has no Guards on the outer sides...

So: Do you have a Pic or Part from the correct Pulley at 2 o clock of the Harmonic Balancer ?

Thanks a lot for the Help

Tom

That's because they are probably selling you the tensioner pulley.
You want an idler pulley. Idler pullies on this engine have the side rails to keep the belt on track the tensioner pulley does not. You can buy just the tensioner pulley by its self or the whole tensioner assembly. Like I said though it sounds to me as if some one is incorrectly sending you the tensioner pulley.

No I don't have a pic of that. I got the other one by googleing. See if you can find someone with the same engine and look at theirs.

Well... OK...

I got one Tensioner Pulley, that is different...
And I got one Idler-Pulley... with the side Rails... size in Diameter and all will fit.

My Problem: The Idler-Pulley is grooved between the Side-Rails...
But the Serpentine-Belt runs on the Pulley with the Flat side, not the ribbed side. The Small Rails look, like the Belt should run on the ribbed side on that Pulley.

I think, the Pulley should be Flat between the Side-Rails ??

But allways, I order this Pulley in Germany, I get a "ribbed between the Side-Rails" Pulley.

It looks like that one:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GTR-49003/Application/?query=Year|1993|Make|FORD|Model|RANGER

But because the belt runs with the Flat side over it (regarding the routing from disciplerocks) , I believe, it should look like the old one on Pic #3 ???

Sorry, sometimes it's not easy to explain this in english to me.

Greetings from Germany
Tom

Thanks for the Link... this side works in German and english... what helps to explain my Problem...

This is my old Pulley: It has no grooves between the side-Rails...

The upper (flat) side of the Serpentine Belt runs of it, which is correct regarding the Routing shown here.

This is the Pulley, I get from a Dealer (even Rockauto): It has grooves between the Side-Rails.

And I wonder, why the Grooves are there ?
Wouldn't they damage the Serpentine Belt when running with the FLAT (not the grooved) side over it ??
Was the Old Pulley grooved once too ? And why ?

Two parts running on the Flat side: The Tensioner, which has a Flat pulley, and the Idler-Pulley, which is grooved ???

Greetings, Tom

Its the wrong one. Take it back and tell them to try again. Or go to a place that knows what they are doing. I don't ever go to the dealer for anything.

OK... wrong Pulley...

Can you give me a Link to a correct Pulley ?

Whereever I look or ask... for a 1993 Ranger, I'll get THIS pulley (3rd time now).

It's not as easy, because I got two options...
I hope, my local dealer can get this parts (and only a few dealers in Germany offer parts for American Cars)
Or I order the parts directly from a dealer in the United States, which makes shipping to a Surprise... the Pulley is 12 Bucks, S&H with USPS is at about 30 Bucks.
Soo, I'd like to order at Rockauto or Somewhere, BUT don't want to get the grooved Pulley again for 50 Bucks...

Ford Germany just says: Bad Luck Son... buy a german Ford...

So: Thanks a lot to TRS and the Members for helping me...

Greetings Tom
