I want to lower my 84.....7" front, 9" in the rear....what do I need? I've heard lowering springs but cant find any that go that low. What shocks do I need? Do I need to get lowering i-beams also?

LR302:

My expertise is more with the newer '98-'11, so I might not be 100% correct.

The 1st 3/4 drop comes from DJM dream beams/rear axle flip - you need the dream beams to be able to align it.

Belltech no longer carries coils for the '84, but I believe the '89-'97 coils are same. Which would get you another 2 in front. And the lowering hanger from Belltech will get you 2 or 4" in back for sure.

Along with the lowering hangers, you will need a 'c' notch kit - Belltech sells them as do others.

So, 5/6 or 5/8 can be accomplished with 'commercial' parts. You can get another inch on the rear with a drop block.

Lowering another 2" in front is going to require cutting coils, and you will be at/beyond the limit to align it.

I'd look at an Explorer rear swap at this time, as it is already flipped, compared to your stock Ranger axle, and good for about 3 to 5 inches as is.
