ok, so the gen6 rangers are going on year 3 models in a few months and we don;t know alot about what can be used between the gen5 and the gen6 trucks. i know some things will bolt in and fit and some, of course, won't because of hte body and interior changes.
but we don't know about suspension, exhaust, axles, etc so i think we should try to start coming up with a list of those things.
no-go:
all exterior body panels?
most interior stuff?
2.3 from 2025 models
light assemblies
10r60 transmission
Verified good to go:
shocks
5g rear headrests, and they tilt
Non raptor bronco wheels
5g side steps
Bed cover (not gator efx, though. part number must end in 33 to fit a gen6)
Sub box underneath rear seat
3rd brake light
MB3Z-18A099-D, front strut bearing (2022 bronco and 6g ranger)
unknown:
exhaust related components since the frames are different. different hanger points?
leaf springs?
lift kits?
bumpers? i assume won't fit since the frame changed but until some lines one up?
i wonder about this stuff since there is so much gen5 stuff available and still not much gen6. like cat back systems. i found a borla catback for the gen5 2.3 trucks for 500 bucks buts its 1k for the gen6. they look identical in the crappy generic pictures but are they actually similar enough to bolt in?
i tried gen5 wheels on my truck and they are fine. no issues and they look good.
some guys have put their old tonneau covers on their gen6 with no trouble, but some didn't fit because of the slight width difference in the beds. specifially some hard covers.
people already ahve found out the side steps bolt in exactly the same.
so what have you guys tried or read about?
