I was wondering if anybody has tried using a mass air meter from a 5.0 on a 4.0?
I have a 73 mm C&L Mass air meter on my 88' GT & thought about trying it on my 4.0.

if you have a bigger throttle body and possibly maxing out the old maf then go for it. but to use it you need the same connector and a bigger throttle body and bigger injectors and porting on the intakes and heads otherwise it is not doing anything and might make you run lean. but prolly not cause of the small throttle body.

that is what I was wondering. I may just adapt my K&N filter on to the stock maf.
Remove the old filter box & see if the cone filter gets more air that way. When I just added the filter alone on my stang, it made a noticeable difference. I do have 65mm & 70 mm throttlebody to use if i went all out like you suggested.I was just thinking about tinkering around with it but not go hogwild. The truck runs pretty good now as it is.
Thank you for the input!

I have a 70mm MAF calibrated for 19lb injectors. While it works, the 4.0 doesnt draw enough air in at idle like a larger engine, and sometimes will cause it to stumble at idle and throw a MAF - Low voltage code. Just be aware...

Thanks for the heads up! btw nice looking ride yellowsplash!
What kind of filter system are you using on yours?

Im using the factory air inlet tube with the 70mm MAF with a custom machined MAF adapter and a K&N 3.5" Inlet filter with a heat shield built completely around it. It injests air from behind the headlight... And finally the BBK throttlebody :icon_cheers:
