Well....

I posted this in the regional forum and got absolutely no response, so I figured I'd throw it out here to the wolves for one last try....

Figured I'd throw this out here and see what happens.... Seeing the TRS banner moved around the country kind of inspired me as I'm sure we all travel a bit (well, maybe not so much anymore with the price of gas what it is, lol).

I was wondering if there are any members that are near Columbus Ohio (or pass through there) and would also be heading East towards Pennsylvania in the near future. I was looking at getting a rollcage from Jegs for my choptop project but haven't figured out how to get the cage yet as I don't have anything fuel efficient enough right now to make the trip worthwhile. Shipping is freight only, expensive, and they will not bring it to my location because of the weight limits on the back road I live on. Plus I would rather give a few bucks to a member on here than a freight company.

I'm willing to meet someone traveling through the area, there's lots of highways close by that I'm sure people travel and it's always nice to meet up with other members. I would also be willing to tow my choptop westward up to 100 miles from here if someone wanted to help me assemble the cage and get my choptop all set up.

As far as a time frame goes, I'm looking at trying to get this done by the end of May at the absolute latest.

As far as where I'm at and what highways are around me.... I live near Butler, PA and Cranberry, PA and the following highways are nearby: (North-South) I-79, RT-8, RT-19, RT-28; (East-West) RT-22/30, I-76 {PA Turnpike}, RT-422, and a little North but not too bad is I-80.

Nobody has anything to say??

Why don't you just build one yourself? Got a welder, or a welder friend?

I live a little ways south of I-80 too. :icon_idea:

Wiseguy! :thefinger:

How's it Hanging ??
I'd like to help out but western Pa is kind of too far....
Bump to the Top-

lol, a lot of places are too far with gas prices the way they are!

I have a welder.... actually I have two of them.... and I have a local welder friend who is willing to help weld it up....

The problem is, I don't have a bender and I don't know anyone with a bender local. The places I've asked about getting the tube bent have told me that if I can find a pre-made cage I can save a lot of expense (counting the cost of steel most local places want over $500 to bend it up - even if I pay for freight shipping the Jegs cage is cheaper).

I kind of just thought that I'd throw it out there and see if anyone on here had any plans to head my way that could bring the cage kit along (from what Jegs told me it is in pre-bent pieces that require welding together) and I'd throw them a few greenbacks for bringing it along. If I couldn't find anyone coming this way that could bring it along, I'll just bite the bullet and pay the freight charge 'cuz I want to drive the truck this summer and I would think that the best time to put a cage in would be while I have the interior torn out and the windshield out.:icon_thumby:

So I'm putting the cage off till last for now and starting work on the axle but probably in the next two or three weeks I'll be ready to work on the cage (this whole work thing sucks sometimes, lol). If nobody is headed my way by then....

I was kind of undecided as to if I was going to start with the axle or the cage, but I managed to get the last of my parts ordered for the axle (if FedEx will ever decide to bring them to me) so....

My axle parts have arrived so things are progressing along again.
