Part it of fix it?

Got an 89 B2….

Needs the trans replaced (have an M5OD for it), the Y-pipe, and pass exhaust manifold.

It’s a woods toy, and it shows.

I’m gonna sell it as I need the room… but I need a vote…..

Should I part it, or fix it.

Considering the lack of details, my optimism kicked into hyperdrive and I voted "fix it". After all, it's not my money.

If you fix it, you can still part it later.
Once you part it, there ain't no fixing it.

Once parts start getting sold off, a lot of times what remains is scrapped.

I'm with @Curious Hound on this one; more details would be helpful. It's survived 36 years; and I just hate seeing something parted or scrapped that may be salvageable.

The fixes mentioned doesn't sound too bad.

What is the rust situation? "Junk" in your eyes, may be "Gold" to somebody up north, just in a solid frame and body.

Being that it is (I assume) a Southern vehicle, that thing would be gold to someone in the rust belt. I say fix it and if you still want to sell it, sell it as a whole vehicle.

Body is not rusted out, but has dents and dings all over it. Not a straight panel. All fixable, just looks rough.

Previous owner took an electric sander and wrote in cursive his name on it. Didn’t get down to the metal, but still.

Seat backs are broken. Interior needs a good cleaning.

Haven’t heard it run…. Anyone remember the “starter question”?…. But I have to get the trans in 1st….

No major leaks, but it’s a 2.9, so I’m sure it has valve clatter. Has around 125K miles on it…. Some pretty rough.

4wd works….. surprising considering it has auto hubs.

So it isn't much of a parts truck.

Engine and axles that are not particularly desirable. Will be hard to part and actually make any money.

Put a bunch of time in it and have a beater to sell, or just sell as as a project... or just junk it as is.
