Why might my parking brake light at my gauge cluster be staying on all the time. When I release my brake it, very quickly, blinks off. While driving, it does not seam to be applied, since the truck seams to have good power.

On my previous truck, 98, I remember that I would have to "wiggle" the parking brake a bit from side to side, then the light would go off. Also at times I would have to put the parking brake on then release it a few times. Possibly a connection issue, but thats just my experience.

The brake light will also stay on when your brake fluid reservoir gets low.

i'll look at both of those, thanks for the help...

Yep. Check the fluid.

When my truck was a few months old that damn light stayed on a lot as well- there is a switch that looks like a nail down there on the parking brake mechanism, I had to shoot that bastard with contact cleaner. I did this once and the problem hasn't reocurred in 5 1/2 years so far.
