When I put on my parking brake the brake light on the dash does not come on. But when I start my truck the brake light comes on along with all of the other warning lights then goes off. My question is there some kind of sensor or something that needs to be adjusted to get the parking light to come on when the parking brake is depressed??

I think there is a switch you will find around the parking-brake mechanics that has moved. Stand on your head & look under the dash at the parking-brake assy and tighten, adjust,?. :) :)

Good luck

I did a quick look last night before I parked it. Is the switch on the back side of the pedal assembly? Does this have only one wire coming from it?

Good, I have to do the same to mine :icon_twisted:

Had some time to look at the problem. The wire that goes to the switch must have been loose because all I did was wiggle it and push it into the switch some more. Now the light is on when I depress my parking brake pedal.

If it keeps it up it may not be a loose wire it may be the switch messed up which are pretty simple to swap out i had to change mine on my explorer
