Hey gang, I lurk around here and use your search function from time to time... but I haven't found an answer to my question that way, so here goes. My 1995 Ranger 4.0 has been idling rough, likely a vac leak. I've been through most of the lines and decided it was time for plenum gasket(s). I went to Advance and they sold me this: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/felpro-plenum-gasket-set-ms-94683/15780163-P?searchTerm=ms94683
I went home and installed it in spite of the fact that it looked nothing like the 3 o-rings that were in there originally. My problem was not solved by replacing this, so I want to confirm that the paper gasket (with rubber o-ring shaped portions) is really the correct part and that you really just torque it down to standard spec (which I think is 18 ft lbs.)
The job wasn't that hard, just want to make sure I did it right. I could have probably cleaned the mating surfaces a bit better, but I wiped them down with acetone. It runs better, but still isn't 100%.
