Fixin to order the primed upper bumper cover from LMC, for my '06

What would be considered fair price to pay a paint shop to shoot it

with Ford D3 red?

I dread the task of calling around and checking, most places want to rape you on about anything...

thanks
Dave

Its hard to tell because prices run different in different regions. Epa standards, local economy, what product the shop uses. In my area, at my shop if you gave me the cover just for me to spray I'd do it for 100 - 150, for base/ clear using Matrix paints. Red is the most expensive color typically because the red pigment is so expensive to make. You could try to do it at home and save some money by not paying a labor rate. Alot of shops and suppliers are mixing small amounts of color and loading them in spray cans, primer, sealers, and clear coats that come out as nice as spraying with a gun. On small panels and things like helmets and whatnots I go this route because my life is easier when it comes to clean up. In my best guess you should expect to pay anywhere from 100 to 250 for someone to scuff it and spray it for you. Hope this helps.

There is a body shop near me that is good for small jobs because they mix their own paint and you're not paying for a bunch of paint that you don't need. They did a rust spot under the rear window of my wife's Taurus wagon where the glass rubbed the paint off and it cost $150. See if there is one near you that mixes their own.
