i drive an 06 4x4 and im thinking about going with slotted rotors from EBC but im not sure on the pads. the ones on now are stock and two days after washing my truck the front wheels are black. there are so many choices out there but i would like to know what has been working for you guys. if anything i would want something that doesnt throw off so much brake dust. thanks for any info

The amount of brake dust can imply how hard the brakes are being used. I have seen OE pads give off hardly any or blacken wheels in a few days. Aggressive pads will give off a little more but it's a trade off for better braking. Stay away from ceramic pads if you do anything other than driving on the street.

Black wheels result from the copper content in the pad. Federal Mogul's line (Wagner, Brake Best, Wearever etc.... are lowering copper % and increasing metallic %). If you are going stock Wagner. They are the highest selling pads installed by shops. For performance pads EBC or Hawk.

as a generalization The performance pads that stop you the best also tend to be the ones that make the most brake dust.

It's a truck, not a show car.

I recently went with slotted rotors (not EBC though) and EBC greenstuff pads. Ive been really happy with both the rotors and pads. The pads dusted pretty bad when they were being broken in but I dont notice any more dust than normal now. They stop very well too. All and all im happy with the ebc pads.
