I'm home on leave trying to fix my mom's truck. It had the engine revving problem for as long as we can remember. I replaced the IAC valve as well as water temp sensor and switches, and sprayed MAF cleaner all over the MAF. The revving went away, the engine codes were cleared and the truck ran perfectly. I also seafoamed it.

The engine revving is back (the engine revs when pressing in the clutch while coming to a stop, it's horribly annoying). Also, these 2 codes are showing up--I looked them up as "Manufacturer Control Fuel Air Metering" and "System Too Lean Bank 1".

The truck has 148,000 miles on it. I've replaced various other things, fuel filter is new, plugs and wires have about 50,000 miles on them. Show me where to start, I'd really like to fix this for her before I head back over to the sandbox. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Man, this sure sounds like a vaccum leak! Check everything from the clamps at the mass air to the vaccum lines, also the pcv & related tubing. Also if you don't find it with all this plug the vac line to the brake boost to check it. good luck!!:headbang:

either pawpaw or rockledge posted this the other day I forget who it was............it is interesting http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/236750-everyone-with-high-idle-please-read.html

Sorry I haven't responded guys, I thank you for the responses. I have heard of the TSB and it is a very good possibility that that is my problem.

I have been super busy but am about to go work on my mom's truck right now. Thanks again and I'll keep ya posted.

Cleaned MAF and throttle body and replaced PCV. Pretty sure it was the stock one, it said Motorcraft on it and it broke apart as I took it out. We'll see if it was the problem. I reset the engine codes and started it up. I can hear NO hissing, couldn't really before though..

I think the high idle/revving is a separate issue, I will go to the stealership tomorrow to get that part. Will keep updating..

Small update, after replacing the PCV and a hose that was dry-rotted coming from the valve cover to the throttle body, and resetting the PCM, no engine code after about 30 mins of driving. We'll see.

Also, I purchased the $130 high-idle-splice-kit (which is about a foot of spare copper wire and the same f*cking connector that was on the truck before), the idle has been normal with driving.

We'll see.
