I know what it means but it's the second time I found it and this last time I did a 400+ mile trip that included all the variables of driving and I happened to get a 401 code which ain't no problem but why the p1000 again? I'm getting 15-16 mpg with a '00 4.6 4x4 w/3.31 gears and not carrying a heavy load. I'm not complaining about the mileage I'm just reporting it. I guess my question is why don't the computer learn and eliminate the p1000 code?:icon_bounceblue:

p1000 means the computer is not completly reset. i get it when my super chips resets the system.

disconnect your battery for about 1 minute and re attach. you should be fine. remove the negative.

Thanks guys. And the article really helps, I'll check all that out.

Hey, In that article they mention the scan tool. I have a basic code reader. What scan tool would they be talking about? I hope not the type they use at the dealerships. What would you recommend? Thanks
