Hey guys how's it going new here and already need help ha. well I got a 2000 ford ranger 4x4 3.0 auto. the check engine light came on and it's p0306. I checked the air filter it was good. pcv valve was good too. I replaced the spark plug and gapped it correctly. it's an auto ligth. I also got new wires for it and still nothing. I think I used the multimeter right because when I paired the cylinders 2 and 6 on the coil pack I got 14.5 on it and my haynes manual says 13-15 k ohms is acceptable. hmmm the only other thing I can tell you is sometimes it hesitates to start when I turn teh key and have to push on the gas to get it start. also when I'm steady at 45-49 miles on the high way it will drop 500 rpms and shake bad until I push harder on the gas or completely let off and hit it again. could it be the number 6 fuel injector or something worse like internal? any help would be much appreciated thanks.

A code P0306 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

Faulty spark plug or wire
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Running out of fuel
Poor compression
Defective computer

My P0306 was a valve seat. Cranking compression was ok, running compression was low.
