It appears that my drive shaft ripped the wires out of my old oxygen sensor(b/t muffler an cat) . Purchased a new oxygen sensor and replaced...cleared codes and the same code comes back. Anyone had this situation? The wires do not appear to be damaged...I could not find any wiring diagrams for the oxygen sensors int the haynes manual. any suggestions would be a great help

thanks

I don't know what the code is, but you can check the wires.

Two should be ground, one is power and the last is signal.
The signal wire will show nothing on the engine side and between .1 to .9 volts on the sensor side.

Plug the sensor back in and use a scanner to read 02 voltage, if the voltage doesn't move or is way out of range, you have damaged wires somewhere.

If the voltage is within range, you have other problems.

scaner tool

do all scan tools show real time data..I do not own one yet...any recommendations?

P0141 is a short to ground, open or short to power in the sensor heater circuit. There 2 white wires to your sensor. One should have power with the key on. The other one goes back to the processor. The processor grounds that circuit. The light blue/orange power wire is probally broken in the harness due to stretching of the harness.

Auto xray makes an inexpensive scanner. I would check the wires with a voltmeter first.:headbang:

digital meter

As long as it says 10 mega ohm impedance its fine. Most digital meters are 10 mega ohms, there the safest for ecm's.
