Hey there everybody. I tried doing a search to no avail. I'm looking for one of those overhead shelves for my 94 ranger extended cab. The one that bolts in place of the sunvisors and then the visors re-mount to the bottom of the shelf. So far I haven't been able to find anything for this truck or even an explorer the same model range. Does anybody even make these or has anybody ever made something like this themselves? Any info would be great.

Wow yes that's exactly what I've been looking for. I haven't been able to find one to fit my truck but sure enough there it is. I'm looking to put my fire department mobile radio up on the headliner and I figured this might make it all look cleaner and hide the wires better than just screwing it up there. I even checked at LMC but I guess I missed it. Thanks alot man.

Glad to help, and good luck with your project. Sounds like a good way to do it.

How is the visibility with those? I'm 6' and would like one but do not want to have to crouch down to see every stop light.

that's what i was wondering, but i guess you could probably just avoid that problem by stopping at the stop lines lol. (at least that seems to be my problem... the stop lines are always so far back, excessively back in my opinion, so i usually ignore them haha)

Its called a shelf-it. I have one in my 1991 reg cab it works well but I do Hit my hat on it every once in a while bet in my opinion it is a great product to have.

I have one in my '87 supercab and I've got a couple comments on it.

1)it does reduce visibility a bit.

2)I didn't mount my sunvisors to it, because they hang even lower and haveing them mounted so they must fold down towards me is VERY annoying because I don't like having something that much "up in my face".

3) It was tilted down in front the way the brackets were made and that
caused it to make a "telegraphic taping" across the front moulding.
I've removed that moulding along with the A-pillar and above the door moulding
because I'm going with the Gen2 trim ieces and headliner in my truck

4) it tends to vibrate, so I'm adding a brace near the center.

The fake velvet coating on it peeled so mine is currently a
brushed aluminum finish.
I'm planning on either etching it and painting is semi-gloss black
or coating it with that carbon fiber look plastic contact adhesive
sheet.

depends on how you are going to mount them to it. If you plan to use speaker boxes then no I don't think it will work. On the other hand if you cut out the proper size holes to mount the speakers to the bottom then I believe it could be done.

I have one too in a '94 supercab. I'm 5'10", the visors don't work, I'd have to lay on the console to drive, so when the sun gets low, it sucks. I mounted a CB above it to the center brace of the roof. It holds a ton of junk, my smokes, wallet, winter hat (I never wear I live in Texas), CB mike bracket, KC daylighter switches, Auburn locker switch, a flourescent light tube for the kitchen I need to get a replacement for at lowe's, my 2 cigar leather case, a pair of safety glasses, Hell might even be a partridge in a pear tree up there with the spiderwebs!
Do I like it, well I sure don't have any other place to put all that stuff except in the bed!!
If I have a wreck more than the last 3 people who have rearranged their fancy new plastic front ends while on the cell phone, It'll probably all fly in my face.
Would I buy one again, not sure. But it's there and it's not quite full, so sure ain't taking it out.
