Overdue Again!

And that 91-01 Explorers are on the downward slide right now making 31 spline 8.8's fairly cheap and plentiful isn't helping the 7.5's cause either.

$100 for the limited slip in mine was a pretty good deal not counting the disc brakes, extra beef and the guy even threw in the set of springs.

Agreed.

It's not usually the 28 spline axles that go but with the 7.5", would be the spider gears. 28 spline used to come behind a lot of high HP cars in the 60-70's but in the 9" rear. Every since the Mustang went to the 8.8", until '05', they ran the 28 spline, exceptions of course with Corba types. Like said, too much traction can cause breakage.

Many thanks, guess I'm really nervous about the wiring.. Used to do numerous v-8 vega swaps back in the day but no ecu or f/I.Was your swap hard? What kind of tranny did you use? Also the Rearend? Just to give me some ideas.

That's a good observation- The EFI wiring is much simpler than you may think.
The Mustang EFI (or the Explorer EFI) is all self contained, so you're basically connecting an assortment of power (start, run, constant) and grounds. The EFI will trigger your stock fuel system, and use your stock starter and charging systems in most cases.

All wiring connections to your '94 are done in a single (white?) round connector near you brake booster.
Harwood Performance sells a decent wiring guide that is quite accurate, depending on your donor harness year. We can help you through that.

Many header choices will work for you, but Tri-Y headers, for example, will need some tweeking, bending, to get around the AOD bell housing.

There are limitless diagrams available on line, check out oldfordinjection to learn the ins and outs of the simple Mustang efi.
