Out of State HELP

Use a paper clip they dont slip out and fit better.

11 miles is more then enough to set new codes.

1st is it doing this as you are driving now or while at idle ? ( rising fuel pressure and stumbling )
Have you checked the TPS yet or the air charge temp sensor ? Replaced the fuel filter yet ?

---It does it while driving and at idle. Fuel pressure rises more when it is stumbling. The TPS is in spec. CLosed at .94 has a steady increase as the throtle opens. WOT is 4.50. The ACT has been changed. Replaced the air filter (only had 5600 miles), changed PCV, changed the tin can fuel filter.---

A bad signal to the injectors could be from either a cam sensor ( in this case I think you have a hall effect sensor in the distributor in place of the cam sensor), crank sensor, and I am not sure about this one but possibly a knock sensor. Or a faulty injector.

---Im thinking either a bad signal to the injectors or a bad injector. I picked a wire harness at the JY today.---

This has to be some thing simple. Fuel pressure rising like that is normal. Especially when it only goes to the normal operating range limits.
Before you do anything else though I would go to the nearest autozone and have them scan it or perform the KOER or KOEO test you self and look up the codes.
Throwing parts at it isn't going to do anything but deplete your wallet. Used to do that quite a bit my self LOL !

---Ran the codes today. Before I could run codes I had to clean the test plug connectors. The scanner would not read codes. Once I cleaned the ends I got these codes...KOEO 11, Continous Memory 18 & 41.---
The scanner booklet says 18 is a bad TACH signal and 41 is EGO (exhaust gas oxygen). So I looked at the wires going into the coil and the green wire was almost broke. That is way I bought one today at the JY. If it stops raining tonight I will put it in or have to wait until tomorrow.
The Haynes manual and the scan book do not agree on what 18 & 41 mean.
Haynes says that 41 is HEGO. I can not find either a EGO or HEGO. Would an 88 2.9L 5speed have either one of these??

n-grimm. I have pulled the FPR vacuum hose and no it is not wet or smell like gas.
Yes I have pulled the spark plugs and ALL of them are carboned. #1 & #2 have a very slight wet to them.
When I had the fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail, I left it on for 17 minutes after turning it off and the pressure did NOT drop any. So I would guess the injectors are not leaking. Is what you're asking is to take the fuel rail off while the engine is running??
Some one to use paper clips to help but I do not know what they are talking about.

I was talking about using a paper clip to short the connection in the fuse panel for KOEO and KOER
