Our 70 MPH survival.

Still no word from the insurance company on whats getting accomplished. I've found several promising deals on rangers around here. Im not ruling any options out, so If anybody has any 3rd gens they want to get sold in a few months(preferrably 95-97, but not a big deal), please mention it or send a PM.

With no skid marks and the dammage on your truck looking like a 45mph impact don't admit to a thing.

got mine real nice this winter they tootled it. last time i looked it was at 30 with the foot pretty far down, damed icy patches. nice lil pole dent huh? not even a scratch on me, not even sore, moved the pole in the ground about 6-8 inches and splintered the whole other side of the pole out.

Hey Bum! How are ya doing?

Where were you at when the accident happened? 93?

And I am in the same boat. I'm looking for a new Ranger, as mine is still broken down, and it may cost me more to fix it then it would just to get a new Ranger. If you want a broken down Gen 2 to fix, let me know. LOL!

You ought to look over in Washington or Idaho. The prices are a little cheaper over there for Rangers. I've been looking over there mainly, and have found newer trucks with low miles for good and cheap. Just have too many bills already.

so, the story. I was driving 75 mph on a road that goes from 2 way traffic through an intersection onto the highway with 2 lanes in each direction. The chevy avalanche was facing the opposite direction and took a left turn through the intersection. I slammed the brakes, and slammed into the Avalanche on the side of the rear wheel. While he should Not have turned, I should not have been going 15 over the speed limit. We made contact at probably 65 or 70 mph. The intersection was a little wet and my tires broke loose.

And both of the people in the Avalanche are ok, no injuries. But If I hadnt hit my brakes, I would have hit the passenger door of the avalanche and killed the driver's wife.

And as for my plans, I intend on saving money and getting another Ranger. I already know of a couple nearby. I'm trying to find a killer deal so if your nearby and have something(preferably 95-97, haha, exact replacement) that you want to sell sometime closer to this summer let me know.

Glad to hear you are ok... now on to business...

I see you are in Montana, and depending on how far in Montana you are... Do you still own the wrecked '97? If so, is the 2.3 engine still good? And what rear end does it have?

He's in Kalispell Montana, which is the northwest corner of MT about 70-80 miles from the Canadian border.

If you need any help with the new Ranger, rangerbum just let me know. I'm always bored as shit on my days off, so I'm willing to do about anything. And if you get a 4X4, you better want to go up to Wild Bill with it!

Dont admit to anything. They wont be able to get skidmarks for velocity assesment, so DONT ADMIT TO SPEEDING.
As far as they should be concerned, you had right of way, he did not. He made an unsafe manoever, therefore should be held 100% liable.

Havn't updated this thread in a while lol.
Believe It or not I'm doing great!
but.. Forgot to fill everyone in. I'm buying a jeep;brownbag;
A 90 XJ Cherokee 2 door. Sorry guys, I'm ashamed of myself. But I WILL be in another Ranger when I have the funds and find a good deal on a nice one.

The wreck was where Highway 2 turns into Half Moon road, right by the Blue Moon.

The 97 is now owned by A American Auto Towing/salvage, which is in Columbia Falls, Montana. And I'm not happy about that. Freakin home owners association wouldnt let me bring it home. I think the engine is still good, other than the timing belt cover, and of course intake. And It still had the 7.5 rear end in it.

I showed my girlfriend your crash pictures. Now she usually asks me to drive on long trips. Lets hope if something were to happen, my truck holds up as well.

Glad y'all are ok. If your laws are anything like Virginia's, the other driver would get hit with being most at fault. We got a law about if someone has a green light and goes, and there's another car coming, runs the red light and it hits them, the drver with the green light is at fault because they didn't check to make sure the coast is clear or something along those lines. It's been a while since I took driver's ed. Good luck on getting another Ranger.
