opinions on stock 4.10 gears and l/s in 7.5" rear end

One thing to consider, is that if you decide to swap the 4.10's into the rear end, your front dif won't have the same gears, rendering your 4x4 to become a self destructing type :yahoo: So unless you want to regear the front, i would wait on the rear end unless you NEVER plan to use your 4x4. And I know if you live in van, that when the snow does fall... that city turns to hells hundred acres in about four minutes. I would personally leave it for now. If the trucks going to the scrap heap, i would yank the rear axle if your getting it towed there, they can hook it up some other way:icon_thumby:

First, its not a daily driver. I got a VW Golf with snow tires on it for getting around, so the snow is no issue... Plus, we have about 5 days a year with snow actually on the roads.

Second, If my rear axle in the truck going to the wrecker has 4.10 gears, then so would its front axle, right? I was just planning on ripping the gears out of them both.

I am going to put an add on craigslist looking for someone with a flatbed to pick up the scraps, and on Friday/Saturday me and a friend are going to strip it down and cut it up...

Alright good stuff, was just going by what info you had posted and what you had said your plans were. Best of luck.
