What's your opinion on Pacesetter headers? All opinions are welcome, but first hand experiences are preferred.

Thinking about putting headers on my 99 4x4 4.0L OHV while the engine is out for rebuild. Looking on Summit Racing my only options are JBA or Pacesetter. Seeing as the JBAs are twice the price of the Pacesetters I'm really liking the latter.

I don't care about a shiny finish, ceramic or chrome coatings aren't worth an extra $200 bucks to me. Only time hood is open is when its getting worked on, and after this rebuild hopefully that will only be routine maintenance. Under hood isn't pretty and the engine isn't getting painted so in a year or so everything is gonna match anyway.

Regardless of the headers bought I do not intend to use the included gaskets. Will use better aftermarket gaskets, likely felpro since I have their gasket set for the rebuild.

I went with the pacesetter because of price. Ceramic coated for the 4.0l in my BII and 4x4 with 5 spd. They are not the quality of the JBA and that show in their price. They are still a heavy gauge flange-better that hedmans. But had to have the flange milled flat(were a few thousands warped-enough to, I think, cause leaks and better safe than pulling headers later.)-cost me $50.00. A perfect seal to the head is very important and may be some JBA's might require this also-I don't know. Still with this cost beat the JBA price by over $250. They wrap pretty close to the bell housing part of the tranny though. I think JBA would do better here. Gaskets included are good.
