I have a 2019 Ranger. My concern, all the sensors, modules and other electronics (Sync included). Before the factory warranty expired, the main camera quit due to a faulty cable. Any thoughts on Ford extended warranties? I have seen a post on ones opinion, but it seems outdated due to the year of vehicles mentioned.

idk much about 3rd party ones. if you can get a ford ESP, i highly recommend them

Be very careful on who you get. some of the third party are fine until you need them. they are glad to take your money but once something goes wrong, you have to prove six ways to sunday that you did all of your maintenence, held your jaw right each time you started the car... the youtube chanel Royalty Auto has done a few on extended warranties and what to look for and some of the horror stories they have personally dealt with on engine replacement. (do a search on the Jeep 3.6 engine replacement..)

Honestly, for anything older than 2010, you don't need a warranty and it is too old to bother with anyways, but 2019, I would worry about turbos, timing chains/ sets, transmissions, and infotainment screens. all of those are high cost items and seem to be high fail point items. modern vehicles are just not as reliable as the pre 2010 vehicles, you will be lucky to get 200k out of them :(

They are great as long as you dont modify your truck. Most dealers will look for any reason to avoid warranty claims. My dealer has been great. I didn't opt for the extended warranty and it might have bit me in the butt last week. My EPS module went out right at 90k miles. Ive read it covered under the extended warranty. Once the brown water came out they might have voided it anyways.

the best thing to do is not buy any new cars for ten years....demanding they offer atleast one with knobs and simple switches and no modems or killswitches...and 2006 level powertrain reliability.

you wont need a fargin warranty.

and you will be able to afford it.
