well, does a lincoln mk8 4.6l 4 cam, fit in a '84 ranger??

dunno.....never could afford one....hang in there for a real mechanic

Yes, a quad cam 4.6L will fit in a ranger...I've seen a thread on it, just have to search for it
SVT

Yep it will............but ya gotta use Dr Zoggs Sex Wax and a left handed screw driver!

sorry.............couldnt help myself.

There is a good write up somewhere on here about it............guy did a great job to!

that was into a 98 ranger ...... search for 281ranger. but it will fit in your truck, just gonna have to do some custom things.

no, 281ranger did his on the cheap

no, 281ranger did his on the cheap

Difference is that 281ranger did his in a '98', a '84' chassis is a little bit different. The '98' and newer have the rack and pinion steering that made it just a little easier.

I just did one on a 89 4x4, but mine was with a sohc, there is room for it but you will need to do something about the brake booster, and custom headers. My build has cost me about 3k for the engine, 5-speed, bw1356, d35, 8.8, lift, headers, driveshafts, and misc. :headbang: you can do it, it just requires some fab work

cool!

well, guess i'm going to find out! got the truck for $500 minus the '66 289 it already had, and the lincoln mk8 i already have as well, paid $500 for it! car has some tough rust on, but it only has 120,000 miles on it!
my dad and i have done a bunch of 302 jobs already, ready to step it up to a BIG motor! this things are huge! really wide at he top to accomodate the 4 cams...i'll remember to take pics!

Remember, I posted this from someone who has done it. Takes some work but can be done, especially if you and your dad are somewhat familiar working around the swaps.

There's actually half a dozen or so mod motor Ranger projects out there now. I don't think any two of them are the same. And I don't think anyone has dumped a ton of money into one either. Come on over to the dark side. The more cams, the merrier.:headbang:

Thanks Greg, good to see you are still hanging around and keeping some of us from shooting off at the mouth.
