I have a 2008 Ford Ranger Sport 4x4. I cranked the tbars in the front for an inch, and then installed 265/75/16 goodyear wrangler territories (canadian tire exclusive tire from goodyear)
Daily driving, everything is great, other than the expected road noise and fuel economy penalty.

I've had them about a week now, and while getting rid of some old sod, I had a chance to flex it out. :shok: "whats that noise?" oh its just the tires in the back grabbing at the fender flares and trying to rip them off!
Now, i figure, the flares stick inwards a little farther than the fenders themselves, so I can probably trim them some. But I don't know if it will be enough.

If I use the 2" chevy drop shackles to get some lift, will that not bring the rear tires slightly more forward in the wheel well?
Because the front of the wheel well (closer to the engine) is where the tires rub the most. Anyone with a newer (08+)ranger with this size tire experiencing this? If so what did you do to fix it?

Well the 08+ trucks do sit lower in the front I know, not sure about the back, but you can try trimming, not like it will hurt anything, and if that's not enough you have a few choices.
Either a lift block (not a good choice, but still an option) lift shackles, belltech I think is the ones that work, and are adjustable, or, smaller tire lol.

The shackles shouldn't move it enough in the wheel well to screw ya up. And as far as the front goes have the tires even touched there? Because I doubt you could get the front to even flex tires into the fenders

Yeah no the front won't flex barely any lol.
I'd day get belltech 6400 shackles. They're adjustable and I think the lowest is a 1" lift. Would be perfect I'm gonna guess

It may move the rear axle forward a bit more at ride height, but as the springs compress the axle naturally moved backwards.

Yeah, the front hardly flexes lol. God knows what a cranked tbar is like. Im not worried about the front, next thing on the list is get rid of the stock bumper anyways.

So i was thinking i would try shackles first, like you guys are suggesting. If it wont move the axle that much forward, then its worth the shot for how cheap they are. I wanna stay away from lift blocks, although my lift block is smaller than the older trucks so I could always get an OEM set and try.

Yes you could use an 07 or older rear block for a bit of lift as well.

Well, put in the 6400 belltech shackles. If I go sloooowwly, while using a curb ramp in a parking lot, I manage to stuff the tires without rubbing on the fenderwells. Be lucky if a sheet of paper would fit between the tire and fenderflare, but they fit.

With the front swaybar connected, i managed to climb almost 24' up the ramp before the
back tire on the same side came off the ground. Not bad!

I can only imagine what trouble I will run into when I disco the front sway bar. And btw, cranked steering causes the tires to rub on the sway bar.

Yep. That's the shitty part about the 08+ trucks. They sit to low. That and traction control.

When I was looking I made sure to only look at 07 and older.
