One year ago

Well, I've had my '89 only since February, but it feels like home since i"m used to Ford trucks. Felt bad about selling the '74 F-100, it had been in the family since the early-mid '80's. I suppose I'd have a chance at buying it back if I had a place to keep it. At 300-400,000 mi (I forget which) it would need full resto. Sold it to a guy I've known for about 15 years.

Lets see...

Around September of 2000 I got my Ranger.... brand new off the showroom floor.

I want to say fall of 2001 I found TRS an joined the bandwagon....

Fall of 2002 my gf ditched me and I bought my 88 BII from a former? TRS member... Picked it up spring of 2003, fixed it up and ran it for a couple months (spring 2004) while the Ranger was in the shop. Motor blew so it got parked.

Fall of 2004 after a nasty breakup with another gf, I got my 89 choptop BII off a former TRS member (sherrodwannabeb2). Tore the front suspension out and started a 4x4 swap. Also started my 4.0L swap in my 88.

IIRC, fall of 2005 I got my 86 off of a TRS member (Gummy I think it was). Used the axles to put my choptop together.

Winter 2005/2006 I bought my 89 Bronco II Eddie Bauer from a junkyard up at college and began fixing it up.

Spring 2007 I sold the 89 BII EB for a profit to one of my professors son.

Summer 2007 I bought an 89 Ranger with a bad frame and began stripping it down in the fall of 2007. It's parts will go to fixing up the 86....I think....

I've had my Ranger for 10 years now and here it is as it stands now...........

and getting ready for a SAS. I'm not sure of when I joined TRS but its been a while. Sometimes lurking. sometimes shooting my posts off. I still would like to thank Jim for his website. I have met some really great people here...........:icon_cheers::headbang:

I know how you feel, except i don't think i will ever part with mine. Mine officially became mine 4 years ago this coming febuary. But it's been my dad's since 94, and he had another Ranger before that, an '88. Sure it might have alot more rust on it these days, but theres still something about it that won't let me get rid of it ever..i will drive, ride, steer, pull, or push that thing to the scrap, and i won't leave until i see the giant doors on that crusher close....but hopefully that is years away.

I would never have one of my trucks crushed, I'm thinking having the bed made into a refrigerator would be alot less heartbreaking

I have had mine for just over 7 years, not sure when exactly I got it but my first insurance card was dated 9/11/00. It sat for about 2 weeks before I was privilaged enough to start driving it. I came on here in Feb of 2002 when my first A4LD let go.

I have had it 7 years and barring a horrific crash I don't see it leaving, even then I will keep the back half of it for a trailer if either it is in good enough shape and I didn't get mangled too much in the wreck.

I Joined in 2002.

Ive had my Ranger now for a little over 20 years. April of 87 I bought it, with 1\2 mile.

later,
Dustin
