does anyone have on board air that they use there a/c pump and install a tank somewhere on the truck. and if so lets see pics

I do on my 91...the stock style sanden compressor doesn't like it one bit, doesn't matter how much oil you run through it it seems...I change it out once a year because it ends up seizing. Working on mounting a York 210 under the hood now.

I just used a York 210 right from when I got the idea. Works well with little maintenance, all I do is add oil every once in a while. Because even with the york oil mod it still passes a bit of it.
I actually had to swap the pressure and suction sides when I did it, to reduce oil consumption (when laying a york on it's side it's recommended that the suction side be on the top) It involves pulling the head and valve plate, installing new gaskets, shaving down the dowel pins so they do not locate themselves into the compressor itself, only the head, and doing the york oil mod so you don't pressurize the crankcase and blow the seals out.

i have been running a stock 2.9l ac pump for the last 3-4 years, just add oil to ever 2-3 use and im good to go!! works like a hot dam!!

id like to see some pictures of this. on board air would be real nice

ran a york on my '61 falcon 30 years ago.actually used it to paint the car,had it idling the whole time.used the sanden types too, they work but are slow.if you have room, get a compressor from a truck with air brakes and put the electric clutch from an a/c on it-those last forever.

That's some ingenuity right there! Never would have thought of that in a million years. Nice work.:icon_thumby:

i used a york 210 compressor as well. best mod i think i have ever done. i love to wheel with "jeep guys" and they think they are the only people to ever add on board air. definetly worth your time and money. here are some pics of my install

Do you have a body lift or will it clear the hood without one with it stood up like that?

I love the york on my wifes cj7. Need to get one on my ranger.

the older style 6 cyl r12's work great. the newer style 10 cyl wont take it...different slide shoes etc...

of course the yorks are good, but the 6cyl style i used put out more then the one i had off the old dodge.
