I've always heard that putting an egg in your radiator will fix a leak. Mine started leaking so I decided to give it a shot. Cracked two eggs and poured them into the radiator. Sure enough, the leak stopped. :D

Anybody have any others?

I haven't heard that but... that sounds like a really freakin bad idea. Seems like it would cause blockage (which is why it fixes the leak is my guess)

That would be a good trail fix though... except who carries eggs with them when they're on the trail?

That's what "Bar's leak" does...those are just to get you out of a bind....

never heard that one. use nylons [womens] for a broken fanbelt. wd-40 on fishing lures.

Bar soap rubbed on a METAL tank to temporaily stop a pinhole leak. Done it and did it again about 100 miles later. Got me home at least.

My Great grandfather said that he had used willow twigs to replace the coil wire on his Oliver tractor. He just had to replace them a little too often for his liking, so he went and got a coil wire when the garage opened on Monday. I miss the old folks and thier " I AINT walkin'" attitude.

the egg deal is only to get out of a jam. drain it and get it repaired

My dad used to put wooden clothes line clips on his fuel line to prevent vapor-lock. Said it worked like a charm.

Ive also used potato chips for the rad leak. But like he said up there, change it out QUICK. Panty hose also make a bangup air filter in a bind. Ethanol or sumshyt to trail blow a tire back onthe bead. (stupid but it worx)

i've used baling twine as an alternator belt before

a dab of pure vanilla behind each ear helps keep mosquitoes away.

you can run a carb'd engine on burning wood chips. (i've got a copy of a report by FEMA detailing how, and it was used in Germany in WWII)

a wood gas burner. someone around here was working on one at one point in time...

Whole cloves stuck in an apple will keep flies away. Also you an put whole cloves in a crock pot with water and it will do the same thing.

We've been having problem with wasps in our area. We have found that if you take a brown paper bag blow it up and tie a string around the open end and hang it off of the area where the wasps are strongest. The wasps will think it is another hive and since they are territorial, they will generally leave that area alone. We've hung them about 30-50 feet from each other and have had very few wasps in the area, good for camping or things like that, and it doesn't take any space.
