hello everyone,
just wanted to introduce my girl. She is an 83 Diesel that I have been driving since high school 20 years ago. She don't look like much but she has never let me down. During my military career I have driven her from border to border and from coast to coast. The original 2.2 has 160k and still has alot of life in it but am about to lose my 2nd transmission. Would like to swap a 5sp out of a later model (85-87). I am wondering if this is a straight forward swap or if I am going to have to make some modifications? Am looking to hearing from you all.

Welcome to the site!

Gunny, welcome! I've never seen a deisel Ranger in person. How many miles you got on that sucker?

Thanks for the welcome aboard.
I currently have just a shade over 162,000 miles on her, so I would say that the motor is just about broken in. Me and my 2 sisters learned to drive in this truck and am planning to teach my girls in it as well.
