old people keep unplugging my truck

I never let my car warm up. It doesn't make sense to me to let my car run for 10 minutes for an eight minute drive to work.

Besides, it was raining here yesterday. It's not really that cold anymore. I remember when I was little it was far below zero and we had feet of snow.

Global warming isn't real eh?

Global warming is a scam...unfortunately haha, Every vehicle I have seen around here came with a block heater. I'm pretty sure they almost standard in Canada. I agree with Koda, I have a ten minute drive to work so I'm not going to let it idle for ten minutes before hand. Its usually warm by the time I get to work anyways haha

WOW, -58*F (-50*C), that is rather bone chilling. I don't live in the extreme cold, but extreme heat is always there in the summer. Synthetic oils, good coolant, and a strong battery have always gotten me through.

As for the old people. I like that timer idea. But if they are in any way like my grandpa, it is actually better to give up. If its one thing old people got, it is time and the willingness not to give in.

Find out who it is. Get a needle attachment for a grease gun and fill their door locks. Won't harm anything and will piss them off the next hundred door openings. Nothing like grease to get back at someone.

Whenever I've interviewed for a job in a northern climate I look at the trucks in the parking lot. If theye have a provision for a preheater I don't move there. I figure that's too cold for me!

What about zip tying the plug together? Discourage someone who does not have dikes or a knife at any rate.

Pretty rude to do that to someone's truck. I'd be pretty aggravated myself.

Whats a block heater? :icon_confused:

:icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl: FAIL!!! :icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

I don't live anywhere that is cold enough to warrant a block heater. That said, when I go to the 4.0, I plan to put one on anyway. They aren't that expensive, and so much easier to put in while the engine isn't in the truck. That way if I ever find myself in a situation where it might be appropriate, I already have it.

Global warming is a joke There are more Polar Bears now then ever before. Plug the other end of the cord into an Alarm that goes off when the A/C power is interupted

Not sure what the rules are there where you're at, but here in Alaska you don't mess with someone’s vehicle when it's plugged in. If someone unplugs your truck and you can't get it started you can bring them up on charges if you want to pursue it. If you were to have an emergency and couldn't start your vehicle because someone had unplugged it, you could clean their clock in court. Pretty much equivalent to vandalism with potential life threatening consequences.

That is awesome!!!!:icon_thumby:

At least some place in the US still condones quick, decisive and excessive retaliation!!

Alaska and Texas, best states in the union (Texas put in an express lane on Death Row a few years back :thefinger:)

I had a issue with an old guy vandalizing signs at my Construction projects. I put a hidden camera up. I caught the guy. Pressed charges he had to go to Court I created a great big mess of his life. He never ended up in Jail but it still was beautiful to be part of

Take some zipties and make loops on each cord that can't slide over the plugs. Then take a small lock and lock the zipties together.

You could also take something that would be an irritant like pepper spray (mace) or something else and spray on the cords for the next person who grabs it. Just don't forget to put a glove on before you unplug them.

Out of all the spice irritant suggestions, I still think mine is the best with purred jabaneros. Munching the seeds from one of those peppers is enough to make you puke. You'll find out who it is when they come screaming about how you poisoned them with your "vile devil chemicals."

REally I never knew that... I always wondered why people just left my pluggins alone at the college.
