There is a small square electrical component on the drivers side on the intake manifold of the 2.9L with the Ford part number E6AE-9-J460 ATA. Ford could not find it, what is it?
As far as I have seen there isn't an egr on the 2.9. I sure don't have one on mine. And I think you are talking about the DPFE, and that is definitely not a DPFE sensor.
The 86 and 87 2.9s have an EGR. While the later 2.9s don't, the earlier ones have a bigger throttle body
That sensor is the EGR sensor, I don't believe its a differential pressure sensor (DPFE) like the later Fords though, but its job is to detect whether or not the EGR valve is open and flowing.
