I had hooked up the 12" kicker cvr and alpine amp but un-satisfied witht eh amount of space the box took up because it was ported. Made me push the passenger seat almost all the way up. That and the bass wasnt the greats in the passenger side, u could here the speaker more than the bass (if u understand what i mean). So i put it for sale on a local website here and got a great offer lol I has asked 275 for the sub, box, and amp and this guy wanted to do a partial trade for his JL 4 channel amp. I asked what he wanted to get taken off for the amp and he said he would give me 200 and the amp. lol Amp is a JL 300/4v2
So i took it because i planned out getting rid of the sub and just going with speakers since to fit real good bass in this tiny little reg cab, id need to spend ALOT of money lol. So now i am wondering again about hwo to go about this new setup plan. I was thinking i would just go with the amp and get the polk audio speakers (fronts and rears). I already have a good kenwood HU. I beleive i was told that the front speakers in my truck are 6.5" right (89' stx ranger)?. I ripped out the rear speaker boxes and the metal peices that was holding it. So i guess ill just go to walmart and pick up some 6x9 boxes lol.
This is the amp i have now:

These are the speakers i probably will get:

I wont be buying from crutchfeild, i just found they have pretty good explainations and specs on their site. So if u looked at the speakers, the front ones are component speakers. I was told that these would be the best ones to get because they can reach good lows and they apearantly sound real good. So i breifly looked at my interoir to look for the place i would be mounting my tweeters. I know they should be an equal distance away from u as the other speaker, but i cannot find a good place following this rule without going right to the front of the dash facing the windsheild. So where would u mount it?
And are there better speakers out there for hitting good bass without a sub? I do not want a sub in there anymore... too little space. What about 4-ways?
Thanks
