Ok so are the EBAY liftkits 2"-3" for an 86 BII good or a waste?

FYI I bought poly spacers, and I have been bashing on em for a year, not my first choice, I would rather do the washer lift, but I think that the poly spacers are talked down more than they should be

so the polys are pretty hard of a ride?

Poly coil spacers?? They shouldn't change your ride quality a lot. It's the same coil.. Just spaced a little.

i think i miss read the post... day off and i haven't had a mt. dew yet....

I might have misread it. I just kinda glanced over it.

And I'm drinking my MD now lol

mt dew is so liquid crack.. i've been trying to quit and it sooo isn't happening..

btw: you read right, I thought he meant body spacers for some reason on the poly mounts, not coil bushings. my bad yet i posted without explaining

either way, the poly mounts aint bad. the body lifts you buy from performance accessories is a poly type thing that's rated at 50,000 ppi i think. some people say the coil spacers made from poly break-- but they have proven themselves to work just fine.

Just got back from Rising Sun IN picked up my explorer 4leaf leaf springs! 40 bucks!!! :yahoo: and he pulled them off!! I'd like to put an ADD a leaf for height. Would it be a bad idea to just take one of the old leafs off the bronco leafs and place it in the explorer leafs??? Or should I just buy the rear lift leaf add ins?? :icon_confused:

btw: if any one needs some explorer parts dudes got i'm pretty sure a couple trucks and he's dirt cheap, just way out in the country. nice guy though:icon_cheers:

i'd bolt the explorers up and see what happens before i go to mod anything...

If the leafs dont get you enough lift you could always just put some Belltech 6400 shackles on it.

adding leafs to the explorer pack will get TOO stiff TOO quick...

ask me how i know lol... its nice when pulling a trailer, but other than that.. its a pain

could always consider a 2 inch block?? just make sure you get tapered blocks..

lol tapered blocks.... wow I so don't know crap about 4wd suspension...

ok here's my goal the explored leafs in the rear and making my own coil spacers for the front on my brake lathe. I'd like to aim for a 2" to 3" lift So i fig i'll have to do a 2 inch block, tapered is that something i can make or is it a specialty part. btw which is better the block spacer in the rear or the shackles (dollar for dollar keep in mind) it'll mainly be a street toy occasional towing and or of road.

you boys are schoolin me on this 4wd stuff. :)

i like blocks more than shackles.. the shackles seem to straighten out your leaf sometime..

and as far as the tapered blocks go, just think a block that goes between your leaf spring and axle.. the rear of the block is ,let's say 2.25, and the front is 2.. that angles your rear axle towards the transmission for a better driveline angle, i don't think its needed for a 2 inch block, but i'd rather have them.. if not a tapered block, you can use an axle wedge on a straight block.

see the taper of the block?

Blocks are evil and should be the last resort for a lift, I wont intentionaly make a weak link in my rear suspention.

shackles are cheap too it was like 53bucks from summit or something. seems easy to install
