i wana painmt diff cover do i need to use high temp

Shouldnt need to but I would just cause its usually more durable. If it gets that hot you have bigger problems than peeling paint. If its bare metal you have to etch it or use self etching primer if you want it to stay.

im sanding now and should i clean the diff out with brake cleaner or leave it be

Use Berrymans it dries without residue. What about painting it with bedliner spray?

Unless its full of ugly goo no need to really your axle tubes will still be holding some anyways. Just let it drip while your doing your paint project, should be good to go by the time your paint is dry. Check out your old gear oil for metal while your at it.

I have done lots of rear housing covers and I just cleaned them with parts cleaner I did the whole axle set ups the same way and just sprayed a good coat of rustoleum paint on them and never had any issues. They looked great years later. I never had to sand anything. Do you have a lot of rust on it or something?

ok i didnt think i would really be doing anything much trying to clean without tearing the whole axle apart, took a magnate over it no metal that i could see, a little froth but not much of any so all in all id say she has a nice rear end will post pics when back together about an hour

Packers tickets? They still have fans? Lol. My diff cover is sooo rusted, I gotta clean it off and paint sometime with the black rubberized undercoat spray from rustoleum. Looked good on my frame when I took off bed.
