how many of you are just running a 5.0. And how many of you are running a 5.0 h.0. Is it really worth the extra money from the junk yard to get an H.O. or will a regular 5.0, run just as well. I am talking stock, nothing mod or hot. 5.0 ho are about 5-600 dollars and i may be able to get a 5.0 with an aod for 150.00 but i think that may be to good to be true.

If you cannot find an HO or Explorer/Mountaineer 5.0, look at the 94-97 5.0's from the pickups and vans. This application is essentially the same engine as the 94-95 Stang HO motor only with a slightly smaller cam. The short block is the same assembly as the 96-2001 Explorer/Mountaineer 5.0, but topped with E7 heads, basically the 94-95 Stang motor only with the Explorer cam. The cams spec out like this: Explorer cam (F4TE) .422/.445 lift, 256/266 duration (advertised) 116 LSA. HO cam is .445/.445 lift, 276/266 duration, 115.5 LSA
