ok, got to thinking..

wiked, so how hard is it to weld it?

Not really sure, but I know I've seen threads on here with pictures and good descriptions. I wouldn't recommend it though if it's going to be you DD. Would corner like crap, could cause a lot of extra stress on things (tires, axles, bearings?). When turning corners on hard dry surfaces, you WANT your diff working, since the tire on the outside of the turn turnes faster than the one on the inside.

Don't know much about lockers, mostly what I read on here and 4Wheel & OffRoad (which had a mention for TRS in one of the letters to the editor!:woot:).

Grew up driving tractors, you can see differential in action real well on one of those when you turn a tight corner. The tire on the inside of the turn will almost stop. Well, it will if you step on that brake for a REAL tight corner, since most tractors I've seen have right and left brakes for the right and left tires. I've read of people doing that for rock-crawling on their rigs too, using the e-brake cables, or something like that.

yea i know what you mean,
I grew up driving a 950 Cat Loader since i was 10, drivin a tandem international dumptruck with a 377 when i was 11, my career will probably be based upon heavy equipment and shit...

why am i saying all this?? lol

Not necessarily. I grew up on a ranch, and went to college for auto/body. And ended up working in the steel industry until 4 years ago. Now I do visual and dimensional inspection at a place that makes automotive electrical connectors, lol.:dntknw: Never know where life will take ya.

if i get it the plans will be:
"Twitch 2" (maybe)
Fill in the gap from the lift at the rear bumper and the wheel wells
Paint fixed around the drivers door
light bar on the roof with some Hella's (already got the bar and lights:icon_thumby:)
5" coil spacer/ or just larger coils
4" rear axle spacers
all the rims painted flat black
bushwackers
34" boots,
maybe more

Sounds good, but I'm pretty sure a 5" coil spacer doesn't exist. And that's for a reason. Get longer coils. And don't get 4" blocks, figure out something with Explorer leafs.

If you're planning on 34s you should also add re-gearing to 4.56 or 4.88 unless you want 2 trucks with fried clutches.
