this is on a 1993 2wd drive ranger

i just got done pulling a code 9 from the abs computer. what a pain

i would like a suggestion on what to do now. here is where i am at.

i have replaced the abs sensor twice the first time it worked fine after it was replaced for a trip then the abs light came back on.

i then had my differential fluid changed it did nothing the light stayed on, i then pulled the sensor again, and after pulling it and cleaning it. I still got a abs light and i pulled i changed the sensor the second time, the light stayed on.

found the following on a f-150 forum does it apply to the ranger?

Code 9 is a High Speed Sensor Resistance
Locate ABS control module and gently pull on #3 wire (light green/black) and #10 (red/pink)
If they seem intact you will need to check your rear diff speed sensor wires the same way.
Next you will need to check resistance of the wires between the sensor and the control module itself.(same 2 wires) No more than 10 ohms. You are checking for conductivity here.....no broken wires.
Check resistance of the speed sensor itself....no less than 2500 ohms or it is bad.

If all this checks out you will need the Intermittent Diagnosis test procedures

This is the most common code when the rear speed sensor is bad.

I had the same problem but on a 93 4wd with RABS. I pulled a sensor out of a newer, 95 Exploder 8.8 rear and used that in my stock 8.8 in my ranger and it got the light to go out and brakes to start working right again. when you go to get a sensor, ask the parts place for a 95 explorer sensor from an 8.8 rear, though i have no clue if you have a 8.8 in yours as well.
