I'm trying to ask myself a few questions trying to figure out this oil leak. This is the third time I will going back in to fix this leak. Last time, I did a lot more (new water pump, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, and oil pump seal & o-rings). And I have already replaced the the front crank seal before. So what I'm trying to figure out is does the oil pump have a weep hole to indicate a failed bearing seal?

Also, one the forums members mentioned in other topic that there is a oil channel in the center of the shaft. And that when when re-installing the sprocket bolt, to make sure to use telfon tape on the sprocket bolt. Is this true?

The cam bolt has a hole in it that can leak if you don't seal the end with something like teflon tape, but not sure about the auxiliary shaft bolt...

If you have a diagram of the oil pump it might show more detail, or check the steps of the remove/install on the shaft...

Never messed with the cam sprocket bolt. And the leak is clearly not coming from the cam area. I know its coming from the oil pump area (aux. shaft). Just it is hard to pin point that correct leak. Stupid timing belt covers are hiding what I need to see. I'm thinking of taking out the timing belt covers and clean the front of the engine real good. Then drive it around for the next hundred miles and see exactly where the leak is coming from. The reason why I asked to see if the oil pump has a weep hole, is that there is a square hole that I can see to be where the oil is leaking out. FYI, oil pumps aren't cheap ($200-350), on a tight budget.

Ah, well, if you need to remove the belt covers then it might help...I think I've seen some of those leak detector kits...I know one was for anti-freeze, and I think there was one for oil...just need a florescent light...or is it a black light...not sure...but that might help narrow it down...
