Oil pressure sender wiring

I'm going to install a pressure gauge for my oil pressure sender in the engine bay so I can keep track of pressure and to keep the interior clean. I've got 2 questions though:

1: I'm using the stock sender (aftermarket one has wrong threading). Will the stock sender give the right reading to a gauge that actually reads pressure rather than just "suggest" it like with the dummy gauge?

2: How do I wire up the gauge to the sender? Is the one wire that comes from the sender the only one that goes to the gauge?

heres the gauge i bought:

Ull need an adapter to fit it if the thread sint the right one. i did that on the car i had.
and yes the oem sender wont work with your new gauge, or the oem gauge with the new sender.

so if u dont want to have a dead oem gauge and the check gauges light on(if equipped) ur best option is to get a T and hook up both senders. atleast thats what ive planned on mine for when i get the oil gauge.

ok, but what about wiring? is there any kind of wire (power/ground?) that i have to give to the gauge besides the one wire coming from the pressure sender?

You want accurate, you want a mechanical gauge not a gauge with an electronic sending unit.

X2, but get a metal line of some sort so you don't end up with a busted plastic one :icon_thumby:

But I already bought all the parts for an electric one :bawling:

I eve bought a mechanical gauge at first (by accident) and just returned it a few days ago too >__<

Did you read the instructions before posting I am guessing you need a hot key on and the sender provides the ground then tap into the dash light circuit for the dimmer.

I tried installing the new electric sender but it too large and hits the intake manifold. I can use a T and use the electric sender, but it'll be a bitch to fit it in there, theres barely enough space to work with just one.

Does anyone know where i can find a fitting that will let me just hook up a tube to run a mechanical gauge?

ok i got the mechanical sender hooked up. oil is going through the lines. but its very sluggish and the gauge isnt reading anything. i checked the fittings and they aren't clogged. guess this means ill have to clean the screen
